An insurance loss adjuster, also known as a claims adjuster, is an insurance professional who investigates and assesses the cause and cost of a claim filed with an insurance company. The adjuster may visit the property to evaluate the damage and report back to the insurer. There are two kinds of loss adjusters: one paid by the insurance company and one paid by the policyholder. The adjuster’s role is to determine the insurance company’s responsibility and help settle the claim. The adjuster may need to have empathy and emotional intelligence, as they may deal with unhappy claimants
